How much does a new website cost?

There is no ‘exact’ answer to this. Not all projects are created equal, and obviously larger projects are going to be more expensive than smaller jobs.

Typically for a website build, I’ll quote you a flat rate for a bulk number of hours for website design and development. That breaks down the time it takes between all the technical aspects of getting the site build, along with designing all of the site layouts, graphics, and approval from the client for copy and images.

If you have a set budget for a project, we can figure out the best solution for your project needs and scale up or down as needed.

Do you have any examples of some of the websites you’ve designed?

Yes of course! Please check out my work page for some of of the recent projects I’ve had the opportunity to work on over the last few years.

Do I get to see the design before it’s built?

Yes of course! You’ll be involved from start to finish and and we can tweak any design changes before your new website launches. Something important to remember: websites are flexible and can easily be updated / evolve to fit your needs. They aren’t chiseled in stone so we have full control over future updates!

How long does it take to build a website?

Generally with a full redesign and web development, you can generally expect it to take 4-8 weeks on average from start to finish. This involves gathering all assets, images, content and designing a layout for you, getting approval after making the necessary tweaks and then building (developing) the site.

I don’t know anything about technology but would like a website, can you help?

Yes – that’s what I’m here for! No matter how overwhelming or technologically advanced it might seem to go from start to finish with a website project, I’ll walk you through all the steps. From finding a domain name and hosting, working on the site design and development to launching your site, I’ll try to make it as easy as possible for you.

What platform do you build your websites on?

I create custom themes using the WordPress platform as the CMS (Content Management System).

I can get a free template using a company like Wix. Why should I pay you to design a website for me?

Well, that’s true. If you want to go the Wix route, you most definitely can. But if you’re looking for outstanding design work and a product that will really give you a return on investment that meets all of your companies needs, a custom website fits the bill much better. Not only will it be tailored to your business, we can easily grow and expand the site, add new features and highlight your strengths.

Do you redesign existing websites?

Yes, if you have an existing website, logo or brand, I can work with you and your company to deliver a new web experience while still adhering to your company branding styles & language.

Who do you recommend for hosting?

For domains and hosting, especially for small businesses, I prefer to use a simple hosting provider: IONOS. They’re very affordable, simple and no frills. It will do the job for 95% of websites.

If money is not an object, I would highly recommend WPEngine. For a more expensive fee, you get nightly website backups, dedicated WordPress hosting, lightning fast loading speeds and more. It’s definitely a great option for hosting your next website.

I do not recommend GoDaddy. I’ve had my fair share of issues with them as a hosting provider. Sites generally load slower, things tend to break more easily and it’s generally a more frustrating experience.

What type of design work to do you?

In addition to web design work, I can also help with any kind of graphic design work as well. Logo & branding, print design, business cards, posts cards / mailers. Pretty much any kind of creative digital media!
